Here are some more ideas to get you going...instead of stamps, use your paints or ink to create background papers or layers, use stencils, glimmer mists, or try stamping onto bottle tops, tissue paper, shrink plastic...or anything else you can think of...
Check out the rest of the DT's fabulous creative makes and pick up some great inspiration...
For my topper, I went for the resist technique, using clear embossing powder, a cupcake stamp, versamark pad and distress inks. Whatever colour card you use, will show through the clear embossing powder...I choose white card but you could go for something bolder like red or black etc. Once I have stamped the image and sprinkled with embossing powder, heated it, I then went over the card with 'Victorian Rose' distress ink, let it dry and then rubbed over with paper towel to reveal the white (clear) embossed images of the cupcakes... this is a great way to make your own unique 'one of a kind' backing paper.
For the base of the topper, I used the same technique but I used 'Worn Lipstick' distress powder, which when heated is quite rough, resembling sandpaper...I then went over the top with 'Brushed Corduroy' distress ink.
I coloured a 'Meljens Designs' digi image 'Patriotic Cupcake' from Whimsy Stamps and used my Dawn Bibby cupcake stamps onto shrink plastic and coloured to make those cute little cupcakes...I just LOVE shrink plastic!!
...And here's the sentiment, now go and have your cake and eat it...LOL... can't wait to see how creative your makes will be...
This challenge runs until next Saturday 16th July at 11.59 EST.
Thank you so much for visiting and leaving your comments! It really makes my day special!!
