Here is my inspiration for you, I hope you will join in!!

Here is my project for the masking challenge and have gone with a male theme for fathers day, so not at all girly this time...male cards are always more of a challenge and it's a shame we can't use flowers!!

The masking has been used for the backing papers with circles. The base of the card has different sized circles and I made the template for the masking. I also used the backing off the foam 3d dots and used that to mask and create the layers.

For the rules of entering Challenge #42 – Masking - please visit the main Anything Goes Challenge Blog by clicking here.

The design team have come up with some amazing projects this week using the theme - "Masking". View their creations on the blog hop.

Some of the design team also have blog candy to give away so don't forget to visit them all! For the individual DT blog candy, please see their rules for the winning their blog candy.

More fabulous news…another new DT…Woohoo!!

Yep…it’s true…I am so chuffed to bits to be involved in my second DT…Easy Craft Projects

What a fantastic team of talented gals…I am so humbled to be designing along side them. I have my first DT card for the Easy Craft Projects which is 'For Dad'...

This is a great challenge to play as anything goes and as long as it is Dad related, you will be entered into the monthly draw to win some fabulous goodies!!

I decided on a monochromatic look with black, white and silver and used a House Mouse stamp ‘Computer Tutors’ …always a good combo for blokey cards!

I printed out the ‘Happy Fathers Day’ text in a computer font and then stamped the house mouse image over it in black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I used Nestibilities square scallop dies and cut out the image and silver mirri board…I used glitter paper from DCWV stack and printed out some binary code onto white cardstock…

The ‘Dad’ sentiment is from Cuddly Buddley…

Around all the edges of the matting and layering, I have used a glue stick and rubbed along the edges and sprinkled silver embossing powder and heated and melted…this gives a look of solder/welding around the edges…a very blokey thing!!

The inside compliments the front of the card…
...and I have made a binary code box for the card to fit snugly inside.

I hope you will come on over and join in the challenge at Easy Craft Projects Challenge #39 For some great inspiration, please go and check out the other DT creations on their blogs and get crafty for Fathers Day…

Anything Goes Challenge Blog #41 Bingo Board

Hello Everyone, I hope you are having a good week and enjoying life!

I have a fabulous challenge to share with you this week from the Anything Goes Challenge Blog #41 Bingo Board

The lovely DT girls have some great inspiration for you and I hope you will pop along and join in the fun. We will also be having a birthday Blog Hop on 31st May as Anything Goes Challenge Blog is celebrating it's 1st year and there is some super candy to be won...so look out for the blog hop coming your way soon...!

Click on each of the DT names and check out their blog, you will find lots of beautiful creations!

Cheryl
Deb
Kathryn
Katy
Lynne (owner)
Sandra
Sue
Tamara

So the theme for the next two weeks is the Bingo Board and the challenge works by you chosing 3 of the elements in a straight or diagonal line from the following 'Bingo Board':

I have chosen to go straight down the middle and used:

Distressing, Flowers and Embossing

These being my favourite combos!

I have had to use this oh so cute Teddy Bea image from Teddy Bo & Co, I just can't help myself at the mo, these are so adorable!

I coloured 'Teddy Bea - April Showers' image with Prisma pencils and blended with Sansador...

Just so sweet, peeking out from under her brolly...

I used Brushed Corduroy distress ink around the edges of the papers and used it on the sentiment, also adding shrink plastic hearts...

Used gold embossing powders and a flourish stamp around the edges of the card and added a metal flower charm brad and a 'Just for You' little star charm...

Added more flowers and glitter...

Even more flowers, glitter and added an embossed Magnolia Love border...

Used Magnolia hearts stamps and coloured, also co-ordinating the inside with the front of the card...

...and of course a matching embossed with flourishes presentation box...

I hope that has encouraged you to come along and play the Bingo Board Challenge and check out the DT girls blogs, which can be found on the side bar of the anything goes challenge blog...

Happy Birthday Nick!

Good morning bloggy friends...

Today is a wonderful day...it's my son Nick's 19th birthday! I get really gushy on occasions like this and I will control myself but will keep a hanky close, just in case...lol...

Nick has been in Amsterdam, living with his cousin Jessica since Febuary and it has felt like the longest 3 months ever...good job I started my blog...there just aren't enough hours in the day for blogging...lol...

To be honest, Nick isn't really one for cards, he prefers what comes with the card...if you know what I mean...he sees £££££££££££££££...lol...

So I have kept his card pretty simple using silver, black and white and as he has a love for cars...I thought this is very appropriate...

I have used a decoupage kit from Kanban, one for the boys/men and I thought this Formula 1 car would just do the job...

I have used silver mirri board, backing papers and decoupaged the image from the kit, which has four layers and matted and layered with 3D glue.

The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment also came with the kit but I made the other two sentiments from my computer and embossed with silver embossing powder and a glue stick to give it a 'choppy' look around the edges, no distress ink in sight (shock, horror...lol!)

Sorry to get sentimental...there I go again... but I just wanted to share a couple of photos of the birthday boy...

Awwwwww.....

...and now he's all grown up...

Well... I am off to enjoy the birthday celebrations now and I hope you will all have a great weekend too...

Thank you so much for visiting and leaving your comments! It really makes my day special!!

Loving Wishes…

Good evening lovely peeps,

I hope you are all enjoying a great day, we have some nice evening sunshine after all the thunder and winds…lovely!

My card today, is all about sentiment and I’m afraid I am a sucker for a sentiment or two…I’m a bit of a soppy so ‘n’ so!!

There’s a bit of a yellow theme going on, probably due to the sunshine…lol…Tilda, her rabbit and her dog have had a lovely walk in the sun and ole’ Rufus the dog is panting like he's on overtime…lol…

There are a few challenges that I would like to enter and have tried to incorporate as many elements as poss…

The first challenge is Sentimental Sunday Challenge #54 Anything Goes (plus sentiment)…you would never have guessed would you…lol.. The theme is anything goes but have to use a sentiment (or 3 in my case!) My sentiment is “Happiness isn’t getting what you want, it’s wanting what you’ve got”. (Although I’m still happy to get what I want…lol!)

The second challenge is The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #133 ‘Dust off your old stash’…boy, have I got a load of old stash…I had a habit of buying all these beautiful papers and crafty goodies but never used them, until now…took me three years to get started properly…how daft!

The third challenge is JUGS Sketch #84

I tried to follow the sketch but had to swap pieces around quite a lot!!

The fourth challenge is Just Magnolia & Hanglar –Anything Goes with the option of Real or Faux stitching I decide to go with some threading ribbon through the bottom of the card, outside & inside.

And lastly… the fifth challenge is Totally Tilda Challenge 22 - Tilda with her Cat or Dog… I decided to go with Tilda with her rabbit & dog.

The yellow sentiment is from an old stash of a Kanban paper pad including the yellow papers & the other two sentimjents I have printed out and distressed.
Coloured Tilda with her rabbit & dog with Prisma... ...a sentiment or two...

glittery flowers and brad from stash...
The inside of the card compliments the front of the card...

and of course a handmade box for the card...

Well that is finally it for me...lol...quite a long post...I know... but thanks for bearing with me and I hope you have a wonderful evening...

Thank you so much for visiting and leaving your comments! It really makes my day special!!

Adding and Updating to Blog Lists...A Newbie's Error...

If you are like me and have wondered WHY you missed out on a DT call or missed the latest challenges that you were sure you clicked on the 'Follow' button on your favorite blogs, only not to receive updates...how fustrating!!

I then had a 'light bulb' moment and realised that I needed to go 'behind the scenes' as well to up date my blog list too...what a numbty...lol!!!

If, like me, you need abit of assistance with this, follow the instructions below...

1). Sign in to Blogger and go to ‘Design’ on your dashboard

2). Scroll down and click on the ‘My Blog List’ gadget

3). In the ‘Configure Blog List’ pop up, click on ‘Add to List’ button,

4). Select ‘Blogs I’m Following’

5). Select ‘All’ – this will add a tick in all the boxes,

6). Click on ‘Add’,

Blogger will now update your newest blogs to follow,

7). Then ‘Save’….

Blogger will now update my blog list on my side bar with the most recent posts.

This needs to be done every time you add a blog to follow, other wise you will be following but not receiving the regular updates.

From now on, I will be updating my blog list once a week!!! Doh...

Hope this was helpful to you!!

Have a great rest of the day!!

Thank you so much for visiting and leaving your comments! It really makes my day special!!

Anything Goes Challenge #40 ‘Home Sweet Home’

Once again, I am thrilled to be designing for Anything Goes Challenge Blog and there are pretty amazing projects uploaded to give you all the inspiration to join along with us these next two weeks for our theme of ‘Home Sweet Home’. Just click here and head on over to Anything Goes Challenge Blog and see the talented DT members makes and to upload your card or project for Challenge #40.

The card I created wasn’t the smoothest of operations…there are quite a few elements to the card and I apologise for the amount of photos…

Nothing seemed to go right with it. I had 3 attempts with the colouring and shading and I just couldn’t get the card together…then I had a cracked tooth (not while crafting I must add...lol) and had to go to the dentist for an emergency filling, so all in all, it was a challenge…lol…

As the theme is ‘Home Sweet Home’, I thought that Edwin’s Windmill would make a nice focal point for the card…I coloured the Windmill with a blue/grey Derwent watercolour pencil and blended – this colour is very close to the Weathered Wood distress ink which I love and I used a subtle cream pencil but this does not show up well in the photos…

I coloured a second windmill and cut of the sails and attached to the original windmill with a cream glittered brad…this gives the sails freedom of movement, so the sails can go round and round…

I added tons of ‘Star Dust’ Stickles glitter and cut out a ‘Teddy Bo sign' and added Magnolia text 'Home Sweet Home' in Fire Brick Red distress ink…

The charms I made out of my favourite stuff…shrink plastic…I always get carried away when using this…lol…I made the windmill & three hearts all attached by link chains and attached to the round sentiment…

I coloured some organza ribbon & card candy with lilac Dew Drop ink to match the colour scheme, used paper flowers and WOC flowers, created a border with a MS punch and circles with the Nestibilities die… phew… are you still with me…lol…

The inside compliments the front of the card and as always there is a handmade box with embossed flourishes for the card to fit snugly into…

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my little journey with this project and I hope you will come and play along with us and check out the other DT members blogs…they are all amazing…you won’t be disappointed…
