Happy Birthday Nick!

Good morning bloggy friends...

Today is a wonderful's my son Nick's 19th birthday! I get really gushy on occasions like this and I will control myself but will keep a hanky close, just in

Nick has been in Amsterdam, living with his cousin Jessica since Febuary and it has felt like the longest 3 months ever...good job I started my blog...there just aren't enough hours in the day for

To be honest, Nick isn't really one for cards, he prefers what comes with the card...if you know what I mean...he sees £££££££££££££££

So I have kept his card pretty simple using silver, black and white and as he has a love for cars...I thought this is very appropriate...

I have used a decoupage kit from Kanban, one for the boys/men and I thought this Formula 1 car would just do the job...

I have used silver mirri board, backing papers and decoupaged the image from the kit, which has four layers and matted and layered with 3D glue.

The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment also came with the kit but I made the other two sentiments from my computer and embossed with silver embossing powder and a glue stick to give it a 'choppy' look around the edges, no distress ink in sight (shock,!)

Sorry to get sentimental...there I go again... but I just wanted to share a couple of photos of the birthday boy...

...and now he's all grown up...

Well... I am off to enjoy the birthday celebrations now and I hope you will all have a great weekend too...

Thank you so much for visiting and leaving your comments! It really makes my day special!!

  1. He sure is a darling baby turned into a very handsome young man. Always a little sad when they grow up and leave the nest. My daughter will be 50 on the 21st and it just doesn't seem possible. Makes us wonder where time goes and what happened to all those years we thought they'd never grow up.....LOL

He's going to love the card because it's from his Mum and of course, they always love the $$$$. Have a wonderful celebration with family and give him a hug from granny. "Hugs" Carol

  2. HIEP HIEP HOERA !!!!! Congratulations from Holland on your sons B-day! You better be glad he was away for only 3 months.....our daughter (27 now) went to the UK for her Masters and NEVER CAME BACK.......sob, sob....she kept on studying and is a young professional now and is soooo happy and that's al that matters in the end! But I do agree..long live our hobby and the blog to keep us from feeling all miserable, hahaha!!!

    Hug from Holland, Irene
