Anything Goes Challenge #40 ‘Home Sweet Home’

Once again, I am thrilled to be designing for Anything Goes Challenge Blog and there are pretty amazing projects uploaded to give you all the inspiration to join along with us these next two weeks for our theme of ‘Home Sweet Home’. Just click here and head on over to Anything Goes Challenge Blog and see the talented DT members makes and to upload your card or project for Challenge #40.

The card I created wasn’t the smoothest of operations…there are quite a few elements to the card and I apologise for the amount of photos…

Nothing seemed to go right with it. I had 3 attempts with the colouring and shading and I just couldn’t get the card together…then I had a cracked tooth (not while crafting I must add...lol) and had to go to the dentist for an emergency filling, so all in all, it was a challenge…lol…

As the theme is ‘Home Sweet Home’, I thought that Edwin’s Windmill would make a nice focal point for the card…I coloured the Windmill with a blue/grey Derwent watercolour pencil and blended – this colour is very close to the Weathered Wood distress ink which I love and I used a subtle cream pencil but this does not show up well in the photos…

I coloured a second windmill and cut of the sails and attached to the original windmill with a cream glittered brad…this gives the sails freedom of movement, so the sails can go round and round…

I added tons of ‘Star Dust’ Stickles glitter and cut out a ‘Teddy Bo sign' and added Magnolia text 'Home Sweet Home' in Fire Brick Red distress ink…

The charms I made out of my favourite stuff…shrink plastic…I always get carried away when using this…lol…I made the windmill & three hearts all attached by link chains and attached to the round sentiment…

I coloured some organza ribbon & card candy with lilac Dew Drop ink to match the colour scheme, used paper flowers and WOC flowers, created a border with a MS punch and circles with the Nestibilities die… phew… are you still with me…lol…

The inside compliments the front of the card and as always there is a handmade box with embossed flourishes for the card to fit snugly into…

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my little journey with this project and I hope you will come and play along with us and check out the other DT members blogs…they are all amazing…you won’t be disappointed…
